Creative Arts and Play Therapy
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am a Member of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) and a Play Therapy Intern (PTI) Member of the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT).
I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Drama (University of Alberta, 2006) prior to obtaining a Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapies, Drama Therapy (Concordia University, 2008). From personal experience I came to understand the boundless potential of the creative arts in healing, growing, learning and thriving. As I found these techniques to be especially beneficial for children and youth, I decided to specialize by obtaining a post-graduate Child and Play Therapy Certificate with the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy (CACPT).
Since 2010, I have been working with medically compromised children, youth and their families at Trillium Health Partners-Credit Valley Hospital. I facilitate a therapy group for children ages 3-5 years old experiencing social, emotional and behavioural issues at Applegrove Community Complex. At Regesh Family and Child Services, I facilitated individual and family therapy for children experiencing grief and bereavement, trauma, separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Autism.
I look forward to supporting you and your family.
